Anthony Mackie dons the Captain America mantle again following the events in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier .

The Disney/Marvel presentation at CinemaCon 2024 had updates & footage presentation to a select group of attendees and much of details have filtered out onto the Internet. Kevin Feige held the presentation for Marvel Projects and revealed footage from Deadpool & Wolverine and Captain America: Brave New World
Feige invited Anthony Mackie onto the stage at Colosseum in Caesar's Palace during CinemaCon to start off the Captain America presentation. The actor expressed gratitude and spoke about working with Marvel Studios for 10 years and headlining the Captain America 4 movie. He left it to Feige show off the release date and the sneak peek footage. Kevin revealed the Captain America: Brave New World title shot with the release date February 14, 2025.

The footage supposedly shows Harrison Ford taking up the role of Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, earlier played by William Hurt most recently in The Avengers: Endgame. Thaddeus Ross was the Secretary of State in the current Earth-616 MCU universe. He is now the President of the United States, newly elected. The footage also showcases the friction between him and Anthony Mackie's Captain and it seems these characters would be sharing significant screen time together as The President has 1 task for the new Captain: rebuild the Avengers and lead them too.
All that gets side-tracked as footage further shows The president being the target of assassination attempt possibly inside the White House itself as he holds a conference to thank Joaquin Torres and Sam. The assassins include Isaiah Bradley, ex-Super Soldier and multiple people.A strange music that had started playing prior to the attempt, seems to have triggered something in the impromptu assassins.
The footage also aligns with what Anthony Mackie shared with Entertainment Weekly. The actor told EW:
Seems the new Captain America movie is following in the footsteps of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier, regarded as one of the best Marvel movies. With Sam Wilson not being enhanced by any Super Soldier Serum, the superhuman element may only be tantalizingly teased through the movie, letting the very human and personal elements take over. The movie looks to promise a whole lot of action too, and will be awaited by fans.
